With the release of the new iPhone 6, it's worthwhile to point out a few things before you leap in and go on a plan!
Any new phone on the market (such as the iPhone 6) will be in high demand and thus short supply. Spare parts therefore will be in very short supply, as most of the components will be geared towards production. Any that are available will be extremely expensive.
For example, the iPhone 5S when it was released, a replacement screen fetched over $300 as a spare part. 12 months on, and you can source them for around $80. A substantial difference. Prices are not available for the iPhone 6 as yet, but expect them to be high particularly with the iPhone 6 Plus.
So that shiny new phone could become very expensive if you drop it! There's insurance, however that can still be quite expensive and inconvenient. If a Telco sends your phone away, you may not get it back for 4 weeks. And you can be sure you won't get it back with your data on it, or you may not even get your old phone back!
